Loro Piana meets a piece of Italian design history. The iconic Bul-Bo lamp, which was originally designed by Roberto Gabetti, Aimaro Isola, Guido Drocco and Luciano Re between 1968 and 1971, for the Olivetti Residential Centre in Ivrea, is now ready for a new debut featuring the colourful softness of Loro Piana Interiors’ Altai fabric.
An ingenious object with a minimal, very contemporary look that Loro Piana Interiors and Axolight have decided to interpret even more playfully, by covering the base in wool and cashmere fabric in two shades: one in a natural hue with contrasting stitching in warm red, the other in the same red shade with tonal stitching. The resulting piece has been named Bul-Bo Soft, a tribute to the ultra-softness of the fabric used.
As well as the bulb covered in wool and cashmere, which is removable for easy care, and the base protected by a suede insert, Bul-Bo Soft features a second element of artistic licence: a leather handle with the tactile softness which is the hallmark of all of Loro Piana Interiors’ creations.
An iconic object that has been transformed into something even more special thanks to Loro Piana fabrics and Axolight’s innovation.
Bul-Bo Soft is the special edition of the Bul-Bo lamp, designed by Gabetti e Isola studio and produced by Axolight exclusively for Loro Piana Interiors.
